Stationsweg
Op de oudste Kadasterkaart wordt deze weg vanaf de Voorbrug tot aan het buurtschap Besthmen "Schammersteeg" genoemd. Een scham is een eilandje in een ven of kale plek op begroeid stuk land. De huidige straatnaam "De Schammelte" in de directe omgeving verwijst hier ook naar (schamele/onvruchtbare grond). De weg stond eerst ook bekend als de Hellendoornsche grintweg en later kreeg de weg vanaf de Voorbrug tot aan de gemeentegrens richting Den Ham de naam "Hammerweg". Na de oprichting van de NOLS (NoordOosterLocaalSpoorweg-maatschappij) en de ingebruikname van het treinstation (1903) kreeg het deel vanaf de Voorbrug tot aan station Ommen de naam "Stationsweg".
